David Chris DiVirgilio
(1978 - 2000)
David was my nephew and Godson. He had a lifetime of difficulties due to a learning deficit. My brother (David's dad) and my sister-in-law never gave up on David. We all did our best to help him. David wasn't a bad kid, he just got a bad ticket to life. His learning difficulties were recognized at the age of 5. A lifetime of special schools, psychologists, and therapists couldn't help him. He had a very supportive family from his parents down to his cousins. David was a very giving person; not a trouble maker. He was a follower, he tried to please everyone....but himself. He had a lifetime of emotional pain, regardless of the medications he was prescribed, his pain was masked, but always there. His wanting to escape from pain led David to seek other methods of release. An addiction to marijuana (yes, it is addictive) led him to seek more freedom. David was not addicted to heroin, his need to escape led him to try it. Now, I pray to Jesus that he is painless, and now has the life he deserves with God. David you will never know how much I will miss you. You were very special to me, the son I never had. I pray you are in peace now..............................Love, Aunt Lori |
