Jared Ryan Jackson Lowry

(1976 - 1997)

    Jared Ryan Jackson Lowry turned 21 on September 23, 1997. He was born September 23, 1976 and  he died on October 24, 1997, from a heroin overdose. He was a gentle, sweet, sensitive, and very handsome young man. His struggle with drugs began after his father died in 1994, and Jared became very depressed over his father's death. He is missed so much by me, his brother Zach Daley, and all of the rest of our family and friends. His death has left a gaping hole in our lives that can never be filled. I now work for drug policy reform in the hopes of helping other young people avoid the same horrible fate that took my son from our lives.

My message to Jared:

My dear first-born son, Jared, How I miss you with every breath I take. I yearn to hear your voice, to see your bright smile, to look into your clear blue eyes, to brush your soft hair back from your forehead. But these things are lost to me now, and all I have left are beautiful memories of days gone by, and hopes for the day yet to come when we are reunited. I feel your presence so often, and I know that you are with me forever, that your spirit of love continues to live within those of us you left behind. I will love you forever, for all eternity.
