Nicholas Joseph Lucatorto

(1982 - 1999)

Nick was only 16, a month away from his 17th birthday,  getting his drivers license, a year from graduating from school. What a waste. Nick loved music and had just decided to do something in that field after graduation.  He  was my best friend, my soul-mate. We could complete each others sentences and always made each other  laugh. Unfortunately, he had low self esteem - he was a stutterer  and  had a hard time communicating with authority figures. He had a ton of friends, all of whom miss him so much. He was a follower, not a leader, and made some poor choices in life. He didn't have a chance to "battle his demons". His dad, sister and I are going through our first Christmas without him. We have to see the new millennium turn over without him. The hurt is incomprehensible, and I pray time will heal. Nick, I will always remember  your mischievous smile, your happy times and your compassionate heart.  I feel your arms around me telling me you love me and that you're sorry for what you did to yourself.  Your friends love you too and know that
